Rome, Italy is a beautiful city unlike any other. From the food to the architecture, there is so much to explore and take in. Exploring Rome alone, however, can seem daunting. So, here are four suggestions of things to do alone.
Take a tour of the the Colosseum
Joining a tour group is the perfect way to explore the Colosseum. You get access to other parts of the Colosseum that non-tour people don’t get such as the basement area where the gladiators lived. You can step on the arena floor and see the view that the Emperor had.
Soak in history at the Vatican City Museum
The Vatican City Museum has so much art and history to take in. The marble statues are wonderful to look at and so are the fancy cars that the actual Popes rode in. At the end of the museum you get to walk into room and stare up at the Sistine Chapel and take in one of the most well known pieces of art.
Wonder around the Trastevere Neighborhood
In this hidden corner of Rome, you’ll be away from the crowds. You can look at the beautiful architecture before grabbing a bite to eat at a tucked away restaurant.
Explore Ruins at the Roman Forman
You can walk the ruins of several important ancient Roman buildings. It used to be a marketplace and now it’s ruined are able to explored.
Rome can be a very overwhelming city to explore, especially if you’re by yourself. Butt by joining tour groups and exploring museums, you can take in all that Rome has to offer safely and alone.
